So, what is equity in the world of social justice? A while back, I ran across an insightful Inc Magazine article by author Jessica Stillman that said about success, “If you can define it, you can accomplish it.” Of course, the reverse is equally valid, which is one of the challenges of pursuing equity. Many people talk about diversity, equity, and inclusion but honestly don’t know what equity is and how it differs and compliments the other two elements. Some think it’s about a feeling like belonging or a sense that people or an organization are being fair. Do a quick Google search on the word equity, and you will come back with more definitions and confusion than before you started your research. Unfortunately, if we can’t precisely define it, we can aggressively pursue it. So, my friends, we need to define it.
And that is exactly what my guest will help you do in this episode of ERG PowerTalk. In this episode, we will talk about what equity is and how to achieve it.
