How to Leverage Your ERGs to Break Through Your Limitations

What is your worldview? As the word suggests, a worldview is an overall view of the world. It’s not a physical view of the world but a philosophical view, an all-encompassing perspective on everything that exists and matters to us. Numerous studies show that our worldview largely determines our beliefs and how we see our place in the world. Worldviews are shaped and informed by our early experiences of the world around us. We learn values and beliefs from our family, friends, and others around us. Then, like spectacles with colored lenses, these learnings frame what we see and how we see it. Depending on the frame and the “color” of the lenses, some things may be seen more easily, or conversely, they may be de-emphasized or distorted, and some things may not be seen at all.

These frames play a central role in our lives because they shape what we believe and what we’re willing to believe about ourselves and others. They shape how we interpret our experiences and behave in response to those experiences. They shape how we relate to others. In summary, all our thoughts and actions are conditioned by our frames. And as such, these frames are also the source of many self-imposed limitations.

So how do you break free of frames of thinking that block your ability to be all you can be in the present. Or how do you liberate people in your organization from frames that prevent them from accepting diversity, equity, or inclusion? To get answers to these and other questions, join us for this episode of ERG PowerTalk, where our guest will be Luke Chao. Chao is an instructor and Director of The Morpheus Clinic for Hypnosis. He considers the core of his work to be in helping others update their frames of thinking.
